Saul Markunsky
Saul is a leading authority on our tax system as it relates to the entertainment industry, advising some of the industry’s biggest names. Tax professionals and agents in Hollywood also seek out his expertise when their artists are working in here.
Before moving to Sydney in 1996, Saul was a senior figure within the South African Revenue Service. He’s a highly qualified chartered accountant and business adviser, holding a degree in Commerce and Accountancy from Johannesburg’s University of Witwatersrand.
His expertise spans tax planning (including tax averaging), wealth protection, retirement strategies and superannuation, trust fund management, estate and succession planning and more.
Saul was drawn to In The Picture by its commercial focus and track record in providing tailored solutions to clients. His passion for the creative industries has kept him here. Five years ago, he became a partner, then managing partner, before taking the reins completely in December 2008.
Saul is married, with three children, and lives on Sydney’s North Shore.

CARLA LA MOTTA
A Chartered Accountant since 1981, Carla graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Accounting, Finance, and Systems). She has over 30 years’ experience in accounting, taxation, and systems, across many industries, including banking, insurance, and engineering. Carla has been in public practice for the past twelve years. She is equally fluent in English and Italian.
STEPHEN BARKER
As a senior accountant, Stephen prepares and processes tax returns for individuals, Trusts and Companies, assisted by two junior accountants. He also organises training sessions, and represents In The Picture’s property portfolio. He’s been a practising accountant for 14 years, is a member of the ICAA, and has degrees in Business Marketing and Business Accounting, and a Grad Diploma in Accounting. Outside work, he enjoys golf, travel, and skiing.
VICTOR XIA
Victor has been with In The Picture for more than a decade. He has a Masters in Accounting from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. As an SMSF specialist and auditor, Victor is always ready to help with any queries in this area. And as a new father, he’s always ready to boast about his beautiful baby boy.
AMY TIAN
Amy has a Master’s in Accounting from Western Sydney University and has now been in the industry for ten years (over six of them here at In The Picture). When not busy keeping clients’ finances afloat, she’s an enthusiastic swimmer.
SARA SAMMAN
As receptionist, Sara is your first point of contact at In The Picture. She enjoys interacting with our wide clientele and is always ready to help. She joined us after completing a Certificate 3 in Business Administration in 2017. Outside of work she enjoys socialising and binge-ing on her favourite TV series.
KIM ARENSON
Kim has nine years’ experience in bookkeeping, and has been developing skills in Income Averaging for four years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Accounting degree in 2018 and is a provisional member of the CA Board. Kim stays fit with running and regular gym visits.
FRANK YU
Frank is our Billing Officer, and manages ‘Sign Now’, our online signature program. He’s our newest team member, joining In The Picture in February 2019, and holds a Masters of Accounting from Sydeny Uni. When not sorting out returns, he enjoys keeping fit at his local gym.
ALEX LI
Alex is a provisional Chartered Accountant who has been with In The Picture for three years. He works mainly on accounting, tax, and payroll works. When his work is done, he enjoys keeping up with movies and sporting events, especially Formula 1 Grand Prix.
RYAN LIU
Ryan has a Masters in Accounting (CPA extension) from Macquarie University. At In The Picture, he believes he is learning from the best. Ryan’s driving principle is to help others as they have helped him.
BILL GUO
Bill is graduated from University of Newcastle with a Master of Professional Accounting degree and is a provisional CA. At work he is responsible for sole trader and small business bookkeeping needs. After work you’ll find Bill enjoying horror movies, singing and playing football.

REBEKAH SADLER
As Executive Assistant to Saul, Rebekah liaises directly with the ATO, ASIC, auditors, and directors and administrative staff of all our clients. She also provides invaluable assistance to our accountants when preparing Financial Statements, Income Tax Returns, and other essential documentation. In addition to all this, she somehow finds time to enjoy reading, music, and being outdoors.
ASTON ARENSON
Currently studying a double degree in law & commerce, Aston brings a new perspective to the team at In the Picture. Striving to become a commercial lawyer, Aston is driven by dedication and passion for the law, especially surrounding tax. When he isn't studying or completing tax returns, Aston can be found playing guitar, at the beach or boating on the water.
JIMMY SANG
Jimmy is a fully qualified chartered accountant, with over ten years’ industry experience. His specialities are business structure setup and tax planning. Away from his desk, he enjoys travel, good food, reading, music, and soccer.

Brisbane Team
JASON FANG
Jason is our tax accountant and heads up our Brisbane team. He is part way through his CPA program and has more than five years’ experience in assisting individuals and small to medium businesses with their tax affairs.
A Xero Certified Advisor and has experience with other cloud applications such as QuickBooks Online and Rounded. When not at work, Jason participates in basketball games around Brisbane and visits art galleries’ with his creative wife.
ANNA XIA
Anna is our Graduate Accountant in our Brisbane team and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. She’s looking start her CA next year. Anna reviews all taxation questionnaires and prepares tax returns. When she’s not preparing tax returns, she enjoys watching horror movies and hiking.
